After my note about the revealing nature of analogies, Jeff Jarvis live blogs a speech by Tom Glocer,
grand fromage at Reuters. In a speech that carries the lightbulb feel of Murdoch's talk last year, Glocer compares the current developments in the publishing industry to that kick started by Gutenberg in the 15th Century. He says, "Our industry is facing a profound challenge from
home-created content…. If we create the right crossroads, provide the
consumers with the appropriate tools… we can harnass what otherwise
from the outside would look like a punk revolution…." So is this Year Zero?
